This year's spelling program is phonics-based. Each week we will learn another phonics rule and complete activities that help students apply and understand the pattern. My goal is that not only will students learn how to spell the weekly words, they will comfortably apply the patterns as they encounter new words. An added bonus is that they can also use these patterns as they read to attack unfamiliar words.
