Figurative Language
Figurative language is not meant to be taken literally.
It is a literacy technique (both spoken and written) where you compare one thing to another. Usually those two things are unlike in most attributes, except the one you are comparing. There are many forms of figurative language. This year, we will be learning the following forms of figurative language.
1. Similes and Metaphors
2. Allusion (not to be confused with illusion)
3. Adages and Proverbs
