To learn about the culture of Ancient Greece, we are going to be using the following interactive site. As you read each page, complete the activity sheet that goes along with it.

This is perhaps the most popular reading unit in fourth grade. As such, it deserves its own page. We started the unit by introducing the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus. We watched the videos below and created a "Facebook" page for each of the gods.
Over the course of the unit we will be:
1. Perfecting our summary writing skills
2. Determining a theme of a story
3. Learning figurative language, such as allusion, similes and metaphors
4. Learning about proverbs and adages
5. The importance of storytelling and the oral tradition
We will also be studying:
1. The culture of Ancient Greece
2. The contributions of the Ancient Greeks
3. A timeline of Ancient Greek history
Over the course of the unit we will be:
